How It Works
FAQ
Randomness
How to win:
Basically, each Comp (competition) functions like both a "raffle" and "tombola".
Explained
For every ticket you get: imagine a "raffle ticket" book, with THREE tickets per row. Each row having the SAME number on every ticket.
- The first ticket: is the one you bought, and subsequently drew from a blind bag or hat.
- The second ticket: is put aside into a big bin or bucket for the raffle draw later.
- The third ticket: is possibly already attached to an instant win prize before the draw starts.
When you get your ticket numbers (chosen at random by our system - see here for verification) You can instantly check your ticket number(s) against the instant win ("tombola") prize list, you then need to wait, watch the draw and see if your number is drawn for a "raffle" prize.
An Example
Lets say there is a comp to win as a top prize, a £1000 jackpot, and 5 other INSTANT WIN prizes of £200 for runners up.
There are 3000 tickets available at £1 each, and you purchased 5 of them. The system assigned you 3, 298, 1038,1050 & 2411
It just so happens that, before the comp started - 298 was selected as one of the instant win or "tombola" ticket numbers, so before the comp is even finished you would be entitled to claim one of those £200 prizes.
Later on, when its time for the raffle aspect of the comp, your ticket number 2411 is the winner - so now you also can claim the £1000 prize.
A couple of reminders:
- A comp can have more than one raffle style prize to be drawn and selected.
- A single ticket can win:
- upto 1 instant win prize.
- Upto every raffle style prize on any given draw
- A ticket number may be drawn more than once in the same draw.
How we allocate tickets:
We (independently of any users specific request) process every order in the order they are received.
This means that if two users want to buy the same final tickets for a comp, the user whos payment clears first will get those tickets.
The checkout should, kick out any user who hasnt yet fully completed payment, if for any reason, their cart becomes empty, but we realise that these kinds of races may still happen.
For Postal Entry:
We allocate any postal entries at the time they are received and processed into our system. This could be up to 3 days after reported delivery. Please bear this in mind when sending your entry.
If all tickets are allocated by the time yours is processed, you are at maximum tickets for your user, or the entry is not valid, it will simply be discarded.
